Iris Cottage is situated at the top of a hill just outside the village of Eggleston. It has unrivalled views across the dale from the front windows. The area is peaceful and quiet, and has superb scenery and walks along and around the River Tees, over moorland and fells, right from the front door. The Moorcock Inn is a mere 50yds stroll and is well known locally for its generous and appetising meals.
Ther are many exciting walks straight from the door and several spectacular waterfalls in the area, such as High Force, the highest waterfall in England, and the amazing Couldron Snout.
The cottage has Lounge/diner and kitchen downstairs. Upstairs there are two bedrooms, one with a double bed and a twin room. The cottage is full of character with its open beamed ceiling, stone feature wall and open fireplace.
There is also a colour TV/VCR, DVD, radio/cassette player and plenty of books. The kitchen has an electic cooker, microwave oven and all the cookware you will need. ELECTRICITY IS INCLUDED IN THE PRICE. There is electric storage heating for the cooler months. Bed linen can be hired at a small extra cost. We have a 'no pets' policy and prefer non smokers.
