Willow Cottage is one of a group of a stone-built miner's cottages in the village of Middleton-in Teesdale. The area is peaceful and quiet, and has superb scenery and walks along and around the River Tees, over moorland and fells, right from the front door.
The Pennine Way passes through the village and around half an hours brisk walk brings you to Low Force, the first of a series of spectacular waterfalls in the area. Further on is High Force, the highest waterfall in England, and the spectacular Couldron Snout.
The cottage is English Tourism Council inspected and accredited and is ideal for a couple. The bedroom has double bed and en-suite bathroom with separate shower. The lounge oozes character with its open beamed ceiling and stone open fireplace.
There's nothing quite like a real fire to round off a perfect day walking on the Pennine Way!
There is also a colour TV/VCR, radio/cassette player and plenty of books. The kitchen area has electic cooker, microwave oven and all the cookware you will need. ELECTRICITY IS INCLUDED IN THE PRICE. There is electric storage heating for the cooler months. Bed linen can be hired at a small extra cost. We have a 'no pets' policy and prefer non smokers.
